Picture this: 32 governance professionals from councils across Australia, all in one space for our two-day Resolve User Forum.
Some attendees have been long-time users of Resolve Meeting Management, while others were starting their journey. But no matter where they were in their Resolve experience, everyone came together with a shared goal: to evolve.
The Theme: Evolve
This year’s forum theme, Evolve, was all about connecting with like-minded professionals, discovering how to get the most out of Resolve, gaining confidence in its capabilities, and shaping its future together.
Day 1 – Reflection & Growth
We kicked things off with an icebreaker that asked, "If you could evolve into a superhero for one day, what would your superpower be and why?"
While it sparked plenty of laughs, the answers gave us an insight into the day-to-day pressures that governance teams face. The most popular superpowers? Reading minds, stopping time, and becoming invisible - each of these reflected a deep desire to be prepared, responsive, and supportive of effective leadership. This set the tone perfectly for the rest of the forum.
From there, we:
Reflected on the past year, reviewing usage stats and welcoming the many new councils that have come on board.
Shared a sneak peek of the Resolve flight path – from what has been developed since the 2024 User Forum to what’s coming next and how we’re evolving the platform to further elevate the experience.
Heard from City of Mitcham on how Resolve has improved accessibility for both residents and council members and the positive impact it’s had. Council members have been ‘blown away’ since the implementation of the Board Portal, and this gave others in the room confidence in their own ability to manage a successful transition.
Enjoyed a session on Client Success with Matt Pearce, focused on unlocking value from Resolve.
Wrapped the day with a practical session from Alinda and Nicole from our Client Success team, combined with tips, tricks, and real-life examples of how clients are using Resolve to elevate their meetings. This session generated group discussions on how councils are currently using Resolve - and more importantly, what else they could be doing. This was one of the forum’s key goals: to collaborate, share, and inspire better practices across the board.

Day 2 – Collaboration in Action
After an evening of great conversation, a few drinks, and some unexpected magic (yes, we had a magician!), we kicked off day two with a recap and reflection.
It was clear that while everyone loved discovering new features and upcoming improvements, what they valued most was connecting with others in similar roles; sharing stories, solutions, and ideas.
Highlights from the day included:
A brilliant session from Federation Council, who showcased how they’ve evolved their resolutions register using Resolve. What once lived in spreadsheets is now a transparent, community-friendly, real-time tool. This flowed into a live demonstration of the registry feature, sparking ideas for how other councils might implement it internally.
A collaborative group activity exploring: How can we evolve the stakeholder experience?
Participants were able to place their bets (literally!) on which new features they believed would deliver the most value. This exercise challenged everyone to think beyond the meeting room and consider the full journey of council governance - from preparation to community impact.
A powerful closing keynote by Neil Glentworth, highlighting the vital role governance professionals play in shaping effective local government. It was an inspiring end to two days of connection and growth.
What Did Attendees Say?
Over the past few weeks, we’ve been gathering feedback, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive.
100% of attendees rated the content and venue as either excellent or good
100% would recommend the Resolve User Forum to colleagues or other Resolve clients
Overall, attendees loved the practical takeaways, the real client success stories and the discussions generated.
Here’s what some had to say:
“I got some real practical takeaways from this forum and loved meeting like-minded people dealing with the same issues and discussing how they deal with them.”
“I really enjoyed the case studies and seeing how people we can relate to are using the product to improve their processes.”
“I really liked the way the content of the forum changed when we indicated we wanted to see more on the registers. That flexibility was something I haven't seen before - so thank you!”
We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who attended and contributed to the discussions. The insights, feedback, and energy shared during these two days will directly inform how we continue to evolve Resolve.
